Evolution and History of Basketball There is no such sport more convenient or accessible than basketball. It is fun, practical, and affordable. Its also a common and healthy alternative to electronic entertainment. However, such a great sport could not come about by itself. There was an idea behind it. And behind that idea was a man, Dr. James Naismith. James Naismith was born near Almonte, Ontario on November 6, 1861. He was the eldest son of Scottish immigrants John and Margaret Naismith. His family moved to Grand Calumet in 1869 when James was eight, so his father could become a sawhand. Two years later his parents died from typhoid fever leaving James his brother, and his sister, orphans. Finally, one day two of his friends convinced him that Varsity sports was key in staying fit. James then started to participate in gymnastics and rugby. He was so good at these sports that by his junior year he received the universitys highest awards for his athletic involvement. He was also part of the student government, Society choir, and the Literary Society for which he debated. After much study and hard work, James finally finished his four-year Bachelor program in 1887 and was put on the Prize a nd Honour List for completing his Bachelor of Arts Honours in philosophy and Hebrew. He graduated as one of the top ten in his class on April 30, 1887. After graduation, James enrolled in the Presbyterian College. To pay for his education, James took up a job as instructor of physical education in the gymnasium at McGill. He studied hard as a student in a theological program and involved himself in extracurricular religious activities. He was part of the staff of the Presbyterian College Journal, the Literary and Philosophical Society, and the Missionary Society. James also liked to participate in rough sports such as lacrosse and rugby. Many people tried to deter him from sports so he could focus on his studies, but James made room for both. The parents of X raise the child to both girl and boy standards. This, however, is just a story. Raising a child with an assigned gender is impossible. Many factors go into the development of gender and gender identity. Theorists state that the issue of gender identity is based on the society where the child grows. Others believe that gender identity is based on the physical traits of the individual. Another aspect of attempting to raise a child without a specific gender is the fact of isolation. Its not based on enforceable contract, based on Trust. Grameen bank provied door-step service where people should not go to the bank, bank should go to the people. For my research I choose this topic, because the disbursement of small finance to the poor people in the rural area seemed to be successful. And women’s position ware less honoured to the family in Bangladesh culture but when Grameen Bank (architect of micro credit in Bangladesh) started delivering special credit scheme opportunity to the women and they started implementing and earning for the family, the status of the women ware changed and their contribution to the decision making in to the family became more important. 2) Possible Research Question: As we know methodology for a research question is very important and has to be chosen to fulfil the purpose of the research. Situational Analysis: Situational analysis is done for any situation through SWOT analysis to understand the internal and external factors which can make impact on the situation. SWOT analysis is consisting of strength, weakness, opportunities and threat to business leadership out of which internal factors are determined through strength and weakness of the specific situation(Woods, 2015). There are external factors like opportunities and threat which are also prevalent to find the way of success of the business leadership of W. L Gore. Strength and weakness can determine the future strategies of business leadership which can be able to strengthen through strength factor and weakness can determine the internally prevalent loopholes of the business leadership in its present status which are to be looked into and turn into strength by changes in strategies. The external factors like opportunities and threat ca n be created by some external factor of which business leadership has no internal control. But these factors can determine the future scope of business of the company if opportunities can be availed and the threats can be faced with strategic decision by business leadership to mitigate the loss of business of the company(Pestleanalysis, 2013). All the factors of weakness can be converted into strength if proper and appropriate actions had been taken by the management of the company to prove its culture of promoting business leadership within the company(Marketresearch, 2017). Opportunities: Promotion of new innovative employees Proper compensation package for the right candidate Company culture of acknowledgement of the individual effort Scope of personal skill through exercise of innovative concepts Future brand of satisfied employees(Passman, 2014). With the proper strategic move, the company should insist on mitigating these risks in the areas of business leadership which pose threat to the business of W.L. Through situational analysis, we can derive the factors of strength and opportunities as the positive outlook to find the enhancement of business leadership. The strong point of company culture towards promoting business leadership gives the scope of assumptions for finding the grey areas with proper interference to make it more effective. There are negative assumptions too which needs to be taken into consideration while considering business leadership: Effort of dominating followers with bossing attitude. Effort of making a team of ones own and switch over to new organization. Conflict of concept causing barrier to the normal duty. With the above assumptions related to business leadership, respective problems may occur which are to be handled with immediate attention. Core problem: Core problem which may be generated from the anticipated assumptions is the retention of efficient employees which may be diverted to other organization with proven track record of success and efficient business leadership. In modern business world, it is bit difficult to get real business leaders who can be self motivated with motivating his team of followers. The understanding grown during the period of employment can be used for some personal gains and that may lead to loosing of efficient human resource in singular or plural form of individual or team. When an employee joins, he is trained with the culture of the company with the specific area of operation he would be involved into. This effort costs good money for the company. Team building is another area which also attracts the effort of the company and the leader. When any specific set of human resource is moving to other organization, a vacuum is created which can not be fulfilled easily with immediate effect(Romanowski, 2013). Alternatives: Feasible alternatives to this core problem of leadership are: Preparing the second line of business leadership by promoting next generation. Proper appraisal system to ensure enhancement of compensation and acknowledgement of leadership effort with bigger responsibilities. Followers of business leaders should not be stuck to same position for long period(Woods, 2015). Evaluative criteria: To evaluate the three feasible alternatives, in my opinion, list of evaluative criteria should be as follows: Long term gain with regular supply of capable business leadership Corporate image Ease of implementation Criteria Quantification of criteria Long term gain 0.40 Corporate Image 0.35 Ease of implementation 0.25 Total 1.00 Financial analysis regarding these evaluative criteria with priority is as follows: Effective result of Cost to the company on human resource Long term financial advantage Return on Human Resource investment Analysis of alternatives: Measurement of evaluative criteria for all the alternatives: Criteria Quantification of criteria Alternative one Alternative two Alternative three Long term gain 0.40 0.40x8= 3.20 0.40x6=2.40 0.40x7= 2.80 Corporate Image 0.35 0.35x7=2.45 0.35x8=3.20 0.35x5=1.75 Ease of implementation 0.25 0.25x6=1.50 0.25x 5=1.25 0.25x7=1.75 Alternatives: Continuous process of preparing second line of business leadership by adapting of the company leadership promotion culture. Proper evaluation system of the existing business leaders of the company with necessary acknowledgment and compensation with allotment of bigger responsibilities. Repositioning of human resource under single leadership after reasonable time. The reason behind such ranking is that the first option will generate new string of human resource who can own up the responsibility to prove their business leadership qualities with more effort and professional knowledge powered by commitment and dedication. The continuous process of such practice can ensure regular flow of efficient human resource who can be the asset to the company. Second option will at times make the business leaders more over priced with the generation of self complacency and the feeling of indispensableness. The third option will be evaluated as the routine process of managing human resource with the inherent objective of rolling stone gathers no moss(Wikiwealth, 2016). Advantages of alternatives: Alternative one-Sends prospective message to the upcoming generation aspired to work for the company Alternative Two- enhancement of self motivation and commitment amongst the business leaders of the company Alternative three- Not getting stuck in one position for long ensuring enhancement of knowledge and subsequent application in other domain of business leadership Disadvantages of alternatives: Alternative one- Time consuming for grooming of the new generation of employees Alternative two- Can be instrumental for self complacency and over confidence raising the scope of bossing attitude. Alternative three- Ideal matching is hard to be ensured as per the ability of the business leader as replacement of existing leader is obvious through these activities(Swotanalysis24, 2016). Decision and justification: After proper analysis of three probable alternatives, it is observed that quantification of criteria will highlight alternative one as the best possible choice for averting the core problem. Justification behind the choice alternative one is that it has substantial advantage with disadvantage of lesser impact. It is also being observed that alternative one is cost effective with promoting of new entrants as the featured player of upcoming leadership in business. This alternative can also be able to provide a brace of well trained and groomed professional who will work for the company with commitment and dedication along with running a team through their effective business leadership. Implementation: Implementation of alternative one should be treated as the routine culture of the human resource department of the company. The basic procedure of implementation includes analysis of five Ws: a) What- Process of human resource appointment b) Who- Under direct supervision of the Director of human resource c) When- During the period of campus interview in different universities d) Why- To maintain regular flow of fresh human resources with substantial educational quality and outstanding level of commitment and dedication e) Where- At the human resource department in W. L. Gore and Associates Process of implementation for introduction of fresh employees should start with the campus interview for internee and business trainee to be undertaken by the Human Resource department of the company under the supervision of the Director. During internship or training period, the aspired candidates will be groomed with the work culture of the company followed by offer of subsequent jobs in the company. Human resource department has to play vital role in this domain as choice of human resource with the status of fresher can be vital issue. The new entrants are soft mud and they can be given any form as per the requirement of the management within their domain of expertise. Hence implementation of alternative one will be easy with lesser complicacy and the candidates thus chosen will devote their time, energy and effort to accomplish the objective set for them for proving them as well equipped business leader in reasonable time.(Researchandmarkets, 2016).
